Malaga Airport (IATA: AGP) is the main airport for the Costa del Sol of Spain. It is 9 km southwest of Malaga and 50 km north of Marbella. The airport has flight connections to over 60 countries worldwide, and 14 million passengers passed through it in 2007. The airport currently operates with two terminals. A third terminal adjacent to the previous two is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2009. A second runway is expected to open by 2010.

Malaga Airport to Marbella

There is a bus service going from the Airport to Marbella. They start early in the morning, the first bus leaves Marbella at 5.30 am. and the first bus leaves the Airport at 7.15 am. The duration is 45 minutes and the ticket cost 4.31 euros. The schedule changes according to the season.

Málaga Airport to Malaga City

The number 19 bus runs a service to Malaga Bus Station and the City Centre and costs 1 Euro. The bus runs from 6am - 12 midnight and departs from the arrivals section in both terminals 1 and 2.

Malaga and Fuengirola line [Line C1]

Due to the airport expansion works, the suburban train stop is accessed by crossing the P-2 car park, at Departures level (opposite the T2 check-in lobby).

Ferries from Malaga

You can catch a ferry from Malaga to Melilla run by Trasmediterranea (95 222 48 83). A shorter route to Morocco is from Algeciras to Ceuta (11+ hrs) and Tangier, via Gibraltar (21+ hrs) run by ISNASA (956 65 37 06). There are several ferries a day that leave from Benalmadena Port to Fuengirola and Malaga. Call Costasol Cruceros (952 44 48 81) for times.
